Streaming media Sever

Streaming media server receives the output stream of encoder / transcoding system (also supports local files VOD), and then distributed to the client player, to achieve VOD and live two basic application mode.

In the Caster framework, the streaming media server can not only be independent as the standard access server operation and can be interconnected with transcoding system, which leading to the users’ VOD for implementation of transcoding tasks dynamically establishing / dismantling. This will create 2 ways of live source access server:

  • Static mode:

Pre created (through the HTTP management interface), always exists, regardless of whether the user access.

  • Dynamic mode:

According to the need to create, only when user visits, then server access to inform the transcoding system create a task, and release the appropriate resources the visit.

Caster framework is the realization of the following access server (server can also deploy the implementation):

1.Recording server

Both the transcoding subsystem and the access subsystem provide recording function of live streaming, And it supports recording format of the following file

  • MP4

  • 3GP

  • FLV

  • WMV

  • TS

The files which have been recorded can be directly used for on demand PC or mobile phone, including time shift and look back service. Recording service provides management interface based on HTTP. It is convenient for the user to achieve a variety of complex scheduled recording requirements.

A single server can support 50 channel recording task. According to the customer demand for channels, 3 recording servers should be equipped with.

2. FLV over HTTP Server

can realize the live broadcast application of FLV stream in a way of simulating the download way

of HTTP file.,It has the following basic characteristics:

  • Supports a variety of FLASH media player;

  • Low delay (< 0.5s) and low overhead on system

  • Concurrency support of Large capacity

  • High reliability, and support for N * 24 hours of continuous work, N > = 30;

  • Interconnect with transcoding system. So it can create or dismantle according to the user demand for implementation of dynamical transcoding task.

  • FLV over HTTP concurrent design:Single equipment of

  • More than 3000 road will supervene

3. RTSP server

Access server which accord with the RTSP protocol standard, support VOD and live applications, has the following basic characteristics:

  • Support RTP / TCP and RTP / UDP mode;

  • Support all kinds of mainstream player (PC and mobile phone platform), such as VLC, Real Player, QuickTime, Coreplayer;

  • Support ASF (WMV) format media stream, Microsoft MediaPlayer player;

  • Support MP4, 3GP format of the broadcast stream file record;

  • Support stream transmitting smoothing function, in order to reduce the packet loss rate of UDP 3G network application;

  • Low delay (< 0.5s) and low overhead;

  • Large capacity concurrency supporting;

  • High reliability, support N * 24 hours of continuous work, N > = 30;

  • Interconnecting with transcoding system, leading to the users’ VOD for implementation of transcoding tasks dynamically establishing / dismantling;

  • Support Android mobile phone 3gp live.

  • The performance of RTSP concurrent design: single server supports 3000 concurrent flow above, and supports 48 live input source.

According to the requirement of users’ 100 channel input source , we recommend to use 2 servers configured Caster RtspGw Server, each with 50 broadcast channels VOD.

4. HLS server

HLS protocol proposed by Apple is a flow download service which based on HTTP. It not only have the live and on-demand function,but also have adaptive ability with multi rate of itself. The traditional HLS live is the TS stream which is periodically saved as a series of small files that will stay about 10 seconds.HLS player will download these files constantly. When it realizes Seamless merger , it will play. This model depends on the file system which as the intermediate medium of exchange,.The data is written by the same one server to generate large files, and this mode  support the file read operation concurrently . So the requirements on disk IO capabilities of  the server are the highest . The number of concurrent channels and users which is supported by single one server is limited.

AnyStremaing implements the internal memory mode of HLS .It does not take the file system as the intermediate medium of exchange any more ,and the internal memory take the place of it .It fundamentally overcome the bottleneck of traditional HLS, which can provide the most efficient live service for iPhone/iPad. At the same time, it supports the file segmentation method in the disk way and the IPhone built-in media player.

IPTV middleware

The IPTV Middleware is built on DIBSYS Business Server framework and interacts with user's devices and software and also with elements of the IPTV cluster: billing system, conditional access system and others.IPTV middleware is most important element of an IPTV headend. It connects all IPTV services with IP set-top boxes and provides graphical user interface for the latter.The server is not affected by concurrency ,for example, can realize 100 clients’ concurrency.

1.Content encryption(CAS/DRM)

Encrypts the content for transmission over unprotected channels. The content may be reproduced only by the authorized users. By means of this system, the IPTV provider may control the clients' access to the content, as well as the ensuing financial commitments.our system open to any third-party software contronlling services of other types.

2. CMS system

3. Billing software

Basic functions of the IPTV billing software are :

  • subscriber database maintenance

  • rating and charging for the IPTV service

  • creation and management of tariff plans

  • creation of accounting documents (invoices)

  • access cards management

  • financial reporting

Dibsys’ IPTV billing system can be integrated with any third-party software controlling services of other types (Internet access, VoIP, etc.).

4.Video on Demand server

Dibsys VOD is built on an industry-standard platform and supports over 1000 concurrent streams (1000 subscribers at normal VoD peak take-up rate) at typical h.264 sd compression rate of 800kbps per stream. Both unicast and multicast streaming modes are supported.

5. Live TV streaming

A TV channel received from a satellite or a broadcasting station is recorded on the server. On browsing the recorded media content on IP set-top boxes, information about the TV program is displayed. This information is provided to the system either manually or automatically from EPG. Browsing the recorded TV programs can be done using the program start markers or by simply choosing an arbitrary date and time.Only IPTV technology provides a user with a possibility to pause or rewind TV programs. Such service is referred to as Time-Shifted TV.

6. EPG

Optional EPG business is available. We can provide EPG function according to cunstomers’ inquiry,and achieve automatic or manual importing. User can browese programs list that can display the actual time.
