DVBT system consists of several parts: signal source receiving, multiplexing system, conditional access, user management system (including the scrambler, CA system); signal modulation and the receiving system of the users ( set-top box).
Signal Source Receiving
Equipments receive digital satellite signal source, local studio programs and A/V signal source. In this process, TS stream, A/V or HDMI audio video signal covert to IP stream out. Conditional access and user management
Conditional Access System is the key position between Scrambling of the multiplexed programs and Subscriber Management System. Provider can control the system, add/reduce programs or embedding other business contents. By means of management and authorization, provider can achieve paid services.
CAS(Conditional Access System) – security enhanced pay TV solution, and was designed to provide the most security media contents protection to operators. It can encrypt control words and user authorization information within a stable and highly secured environment, and fully compatible with DVB Simul-Crypt standard.
In order to cater to the needs of ever-expanding digital television network, the DIBSYS’s CAS enables TV operators to deploy a medium-sized TV network in initial phase and large scale by network expansion phase wherever in cable, satellite or terrestrial. Furthermore, DIBSYS’s CAS support a number of mechanisms of content protection for better operator’s investment, such as 3DES and AES encryption algorithm, smart card & STB binding, zone control, black list management and so on.
SMS(Subscriber Management System)–supports flexible subscriber management and servicing operations, including value-added services such as message charging, voice charging and malfunction reporting. The system is based on modular design, so that customers are able to choose different modules and interfaces in accordance with their own needs, or request for dedicated modules and interfaces to achieve seamless merging with their existing systems. Meanwhile, we could also integrate customer’s office automation system, equipment management system and program management system onto a unified platform, with necessary re-design for system reliability and safety as a whole.
DVB-T Modulator protocol stack is relying on existing and proved MPEG-2 TS and MPEG2-GSE. MPEG-2 GSE is a generic purpose encapsulation protocol dedicated to efficient IP distribution of video services to the T-MI gateway. The output interface of the gateway to the distribution network is either IP encapsulated or directly in ASI format.
Both DVB-T and DVB-T use the OFDM modulation scheme, which provides various options for bandwidth, modulation, FEC (forward error correction) rates, number of carriers, and guard intervals, making it flexible enough to meet the needs of different transmission environments and operators.
DVB-T provides more options than DVB-T, enabling higher efficiency and flexibility, and supports more advanced technologies, such as multiple PLPs, LDPC coding, and MISO, resulting in increased signal and test complexity, especially for a MISO configuration. Overall, while there are similarities between the two systems, the broader set of features in the DVB-T system allows it to offer both a much higher data rate than DVB-T and a much more robust signal.
